A Memorable Visit to the Future “The Palms Resort & Spa” in La Manga
This week, I had the pleasure of visiting one of Blue Diamond Resorts’ most exciting upcoming projects: the future The Palms Resort & Spa, a five-star luxury development on the front line of La Manga del Mar Menor.
Joining me on this trip was my 80-year-old father — a former art director and a man of great aesthetic vision. Sharing this experience with him made the visit especially meaningful.
We began our day at Blue Diamond’s headquarters in San Pedro del Pinatar. From there, we sailed by yacht across the Mar Menor to the project site in La Manga — a symbolic and inspiring journey. The Mar Menor is unique in Europe, reaching up to 30°C in summer, with calm, wave-free waters that are ideal for wellness tourism and year-round navigation.
Onboard with us was Rafael Amat, senior architect at Blue Diamond Resorts. As an engineer and strategic investor, I enjoy being actively involved in the early phases of development, and seeing the site from the water gave me a fresh and powerful perspective.
Back in the Netherlands, I am the proud owner of a classic Dutch vessel — the ST 41 Staverse Kotter, a ship that reflects heritage and craftsmanship. To me, real estate investments should reflect the same qualities: vision, authenticity, and long-term value.
My father — with his sharp eye for beauty, light, and proportion — offered his thoughts on the plot, its orientation, and its integration into the natural environment. His feedback confirmed to me that this project is not just promising, but exceptional.
After thoroughly researching Spain’s real estate landscape, I chose to invest exclusively in Blue Diamond Resorts and the La Manga region. I have already invested in multiple developments and am committed to supporting the ongoing and future growth of the company.

In 2021, we were able to make our dream come true — owning a penthouse at Cabo Beach, thanks to Blue Diamond Resorts.
Their dedication, vision, and care made it not just a property, but truly our dream home.
We enjoy stunning views over the Mediterranean Sea, both from our living room/kitchen and from the balcony and rooftop terrace. The peaceful beach directly in front of Cabo Beach completes the experience.
We now visit around six times a year, and no matter the season, it always feels like coming home.
The lush garden and even more beautiful pool make the place feel like a private retreat.
And in the evenings, when we sit in our jacuzzi with a glass of wine, we honestly can’t imagine a more perfect place on earth.
